This past Saturday was the opening night of the Whole Life Services art show at Sans MOCO, an art Gallery in Greenville, PA. The show features paintings and photographs, as well as mixed media and laser engraved pieces done by twelve of the people we serve. In addition, there are two collaborative pieces on display. One of the pieces, Block Party, is a mashup of creativity from the people we serve, their staff, and friends of WLS. The second is a metalsmithing piece created by people we serve, as well as several members of the community, under the direction of Donna Little, a Greenville based jewelry maker.
The gallery has been beautifully curated by the staff at Sans MOCO, who made sure that each piece was perfectly highlighted. One of our artists, Ida, was most excited to see her work on display in a big gallery for the first time. When asked what she thought of the show, Ida exclaimed, “I loved it! All the staff have been so friendly!” Another of the artists, Emilie, was excited to see her work hanging amongst that of her friends. Her favorite piece in the show was a cityscape done by her best friend, Sheri. Emilie stated, “It was a lot of fun hanging out with my friends and showing our art to the public!”
If you would like to see the show in person, it will remain on display at Sans MOCO until September 30th. The gallery is located on the top floor of Fresh Grounds Coffeehouse, 172 Main St. Greenville, PA 16125. Please visit their Facebook page for info on hours of operation at https://www.facebook.com/sansmoco. There is an elevator, so if steps aren’t your thing, please ask the super friendly staff to point you in the right direction.
